AltoScribe provides a WordPress/WooCommerce plugin and a hosted API that generate product descriptions (short and long) from your products' names, attributes, and categories using AI. The free plan includes a monthly allowance; paid plans (Pro, Business, Agency) add higher monthly allowances and multi-site use, and one-off credit top-ups are available for larger imports. We may change features and limits over time.
The free plan works without an account, identified by a non-identifying site ID. Paid plans and credit packs are sold through our merchant of record, Freemius, who is the seller of record and handles payment and tax. Your licence is for use on the sites you own or manage, up to the site limit of your plan.
Paid allowances are metered per month per plan; credit top-ups are added on top and do not expire. The AI is provided through a third-party AI provider (Anthropic), and your use of the AI features must comply with applicable law and with Anthropic's Usage Policy. You agree not to: exceed or circumvent plan, allowance, or fair-use limits; resell or redistribute access to the API or the underlying AI service; send unlawful content; use the service to generate content that is deceptive, infringing, or harmful; attempt to develop a competing AI model or to reverse-engineer the service; or attempt to disrupt the service. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access for breach of these terms or the Usage Policy.
AltoScribe produces AI-generated, suggested product copy. AI output can be inaccurate: descriptions may state things about a product that are false, incomplete, or misleading, or may not reflect its actual features, and should not be published without independently checking them. Every result is presented for your review before it is saved, and AltoScribe does not overwrite an existing description unless you choose to replace it. You are responsible for reviewing all output before it is published, and you remain responsible for the content on your store, including its accuracy and legal compliance (for example consumer, labelling, and advertising rules). We do not warrant that generated text is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.
You retain all rights in the product data you send and the descriptions produced for you. You grant us a limited licence to process that data solely to provide the service. See the Privacy Policy for details. Business customers acting as data controllers may rely on our Data Processing Agreement (a counter-signed copy is available on request).
We aim for high availability but provide the service "as is" and "as available," without uptime guarantees on the free plan.
Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis by our merchant of record until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and will retain access until the end of the current period. Credit top-ups are one-off purchases. Taxes are handled by the merchant of record.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost sales arising from published descriptions. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms.
